Just as clothes, shoes and accessory fashions change, so do hair trends!  Changing cut from long to short or even short to long with the help of a few extensions is a daring task but changing colour is even more so!

Soft blondes and beachy bright hues are very suited to the summer months, however rich mocha colours and reds are great for autumn and winter.  Blonde can sometimes cause you to look a little washed out in the cooler months, which is why now is a great time to opt for a change.

However if you are intending to drastically colour your hair, it is probably better to invest in a great salon.  Otherwise you could end up with horrendous roots or a shade that wasn’t quite what you were expecting!

Even though a few styles from past seasons were still emerging, this season was all about the down do and locks therefore were required to be in perfect condition.  Regular trips to your salon and a great hair treatment will create super shiny locks that look healthy and volume enhanced when down!

Long Hairstyles

The Double Knot – This style looks effortless and feminine and can be worn for work for a girly touch to a power suit or on more casual days when you want your hair out of the way. Simply split hair into two, tie in a knot then tie again. Secure with pins or scrunchies. Simples!

Braided Topknot – Why this is still popular is a mystery. It looks like you couldn’t be bothered washing, brushing or indeed doing anything with your hair before leaving the house. But, if you want the unkempt, lack of effort look this is another simple style. Pull your hair into a high ponytail, braid it and twist into a topknot that sits atop your head. The messier the better.

Half Up Braids – A variation on the Goddess braid style, this is a cute look that is very feminine and looks great on long hair. Braid two sections of hair on either side, pull behind your head and secure leaving the rest to fall free.

Short Hairstyles

Waved Bob – Curls and waves are big this autum/winter and if you already have a bob, some products and a little heat applied will get those beach style waves that will bring this look up to date. Good news for naturally curly people, this will take little effort to look great.

Fringes – Back with a vengance! Fringes have been showing up to go with most of this season’s colours and styles from hard lines to soft side partings, there will be something to suit your style.

Hair heaven is a place we all wish to reside in, at least from time to time!  Waking up with an uncontrollable mop of locks is something we could all do without!  However there are formulas out there that boast to wash that mop away and replace it with a shiny style that screams ‘I have just stepped out of the salon!’

This season is going a little over the top when it comes to the locks, lengths are all over the place, one side is often shorter than the other and fringes are overpowering and in your face!

However these styles may stay in place whilst sat in the salon chair, they won’t however stay in tact whilst running the many day to day errands.

As well as styles being uber on form this season, accessories are another way to make your locks shine bright!  A certain glamorous and sophisticated style was seen on an array of the catwalks this season.  Think cutesy clips and shiny grips.

Wear with tightly slicked back locks with a pony tail worn high on the crown of the head.  This trend will certainly tick all the style boxes for the new season and is a great way to wear day old hair if you don’t have time to wash it!

The colour of this year appears to be red, with an assortment of stylistas sporting a a brighter hue than the past shades of red.  However next season suggests a more diluted shade in the shape of golden copper and honey shades.  Take a few style notes from some of this season’s stylish stars, an assortment have hit recent red carpet events with this particular golden hue!

Exaggerated and soft are the textures to opt for this season, think undone curls and brush them out slightly.  Team with exaggerated bows, pins and clips in order to reveal a real glamour esqu look!
