Time for a change…

Many of us may have a few resolutions on the cards for the 2012, many of us also may have a few new style alterations in mind!

Whether you fancy a complete revamp, or quite simply a new colour on those locks, we are here to keep you on the right tracks.

One way to change our looks dramatically is to change our hair colours.  Hair colour can add both colour to your skin tone, or alternatively take colour away from it.  This is why it is extremely important to get your new shade just right.

Winter colours tend to be warmer shades as such as shades that warm up your entire look.  Reds, auburn, ginger and mahogany hues are great winter shades and are very much in for this season.  Make sure the chosen tone matches your complexion perfectly, otherwise it will look really unnatural.

If you are a little more daring and fancy a brighter hue, opt for deep plums and purples.  These shades certainly make a statement and will most definitely add a little punch to any look!

Match your outfit to your new hair shade.  For example if you have a beautiful fushia purple on your locks, team them with a pair of matching shoes and a clutch.  All of these items will really tie your look together.

The one thing to remember about your locks, especially if you intend to add a different hue to them regularly, is to condition them.  Invest in a salon style treatment that works to really make your locks shine with health and bounce.  The product does this as it conditions and nourishs dry or frizzy locks.  Smooth and shiny hair will allow the colour to stand out much more.

Now that you have your hair sorted, you will need to plan a little shopping trip in order to stock up on similar hued accessories.

This year’s hair trends are very much infused with quality and many of them are all about revival and also evolution, which sees many of 2010’s hair trends reborn.

Styles and colours are similar to that of the previous years, whilst cuts are being altered dramatically in order to reveal the new season looks!

The all-new re-vamped looks are the perfect addition to many of this season’s clothes trends, which only makes them even more sought after!

This season has spread the trends across long, mid and short length hair, which makes them suited to most personas!

Some of the longer season styles include the likes of a half braided up do, which offers an effortless option to those that have a lot of hair!  It comes in the shape of braids pulled over to the side, which in turn form the half up braided hairstyle.

Another must-try style is the half up, half down do, which works that classical sex kitten look and is very 60’s.  It can be as sleek or as undone as you wish it to be, so therefore works for an assortment of occasions!

Losing the length

A new season is all about trying a new style!  Chopping off your existing long layers however can be a daring and dramatic experience.

However the new in length appears to be short on one side and longer with a sweeping fringe on the other!  If this is the first time you are attempting a shorter do then this is a good option and a great alternative to a complete pixie look.  The fringe can be swapped over to cover the shorter side, revealing a look that looks a little longer.  The fringe can also be pinned back to create a quiff, which offers another look.

Adding a softer edge to such a style is also possible by curling the fringe and pinning it back with a sweet embellished clip.

Shorter styles are also a great look if you wish to create a little volume and va va voom style as the layers can be tousled up and back combed in order to create a look that screams look at me!  The perfect bed head look indeed!

Getting to grips with this season’s hot hair trends

A new season is fast approaching, which more than likely means it is most definitely time to give those tired locks a much-needed boost.  This could be in the shape of a new hair shade, a new cut, style and blow dry, a completely new look or a simply great conditioning treatment.

Summer was the time for surfer style locks, laid-back loose waves and sunny blonde highlights.  However autumn and winter tend to push themselves to a warmer shade and a more slick look.

This style was certainly seen on the autumn and winter catwalks.  Catwalk models stepped out in both up and down dos.  Every look however offered a slick appeal in the shape of side parted low slung ponies and uber straight centre parted styles.

Colours varied from golden browns to rich ice mocha shades.  However if you really want to change your look then opt for a plum or ginger glossy hue, such a shade will certainly go with any one of the outfits being released for the new season, it will also really add warmth to a paler complexion.

Even though a few styles from past seasons were still emerging, this season was all about the down do and locks therefore were required to be in perfect condition.  Regular trips to your salon and a great hair treatment will create super shiny locks that look healthy and volume enhanced when down!

Make sure you also spray on a heat treatment prior to styling your hair as tongs and straighteners can do a lot of damage otherwise.  Try a product such as Elasticiser from the salon connoisseur Kingsley.

Healthy tress gurus

Hair heaven is a place we all wish to reside in, at least from time to time!  Waking up with an uncontrollable mop of locks is something we could all do without!  However there are formulas out there that boast to wash that mop away and replace it with a shiny style that screams ‘I have just stepped out of the salon!’

Hydration is key to keeping your locks tame and the best way to keep your hair hydrated is to invest in a smoothing and nourishing shine shampoo and a great conditioner!

Look for one that has been designed for your specific hair type and not one that has been recommended by solely someone you know, as everyone has a different hair type!

Yours may be dry, oily or fly away.  Choose something that combats any thing you wish to resolve!

Healthy hair is also affected by your lifestyle, for example if you are the kind of girl that washes her locks everyday, you may be met with dry hair as washing too often can in fact cause oil loss in the locks!

Those that use a lot of products and styling tools should most definitely invest in a heat combatting spray.  Too much styling can again cause the locks to to become unruly and frazzled, despite it looking good at the time!

Leave your hair to dry naturally as much as you can in order to give it a rest from the wrath of the styling tongs, hairs irons and anything else you may use to style the locks…

Summer hair style secrets

If you want to stay on trend for the new season then get rocking a fringe!  A cool rock fringe is where its at and already proving a hit style with the celebrities!  It is also a great look if you desire to create an effortless style and one that screams look at me!

Rose Byrne has this new season hair down to a tee and shows fellow fashionistas how to work such a look.  If you too wish to create an equally pleasing style then ask your stylist to create a fringe that just skims the brow bone.

This look is also a great investment style as you don’t need to worry about it going out of fashion anytime soon!  The rock chick fringe is set to be the in style for Autumn.

This look is a great way to add a fashion forward style to your attire instantly and if you tire of the fringe, simply pin it back into a statement quiff and rock a totally different style for 2011.

Wear the style with poker straight hair for a statement look or tousled looks for a more laid back look.  Use large hot tongs or ghd styling irons to create the curls and brush out slightly once set.

Add anyone of this season’s must-have accessories to your locks for a glamorous take, such as head bands, pins or clips!
